The Empress Hotel strives to ensure that its facility is accessible to people with disabilities. Over the years, we have made improvements to make it more accessible, with the strong belief that every guest is treated with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.
To prepare for your visit, please note the following:
Parking and Entrance:
· We do not have a dedicated parking lot. However, there is street parking with several handicap spot on both sides of the building available with corner curb cutouts.
· There are three steps to enter the building at the main lobby entrance.
· Accessible route from the public entrance on the south side of the building (Bar Entrance) to the registration area.
First Floor:
· Accessible route from the public entrance on the south side of the building (Bar Entrance) to the registration area. If the lounge is closed, you may need to contact the front desk at 732-774-0100 and a staff member will assistance with access into the building
· The registration desk is 49 inches high. If a guest is unable to use the registration desk, hotel staff will happily assist the guest elsewhere in the lobby.
· Lobby bathrooms feature accessible sinks, mobility accessible doors with 36 inches of clear door width and grab bars.
· No guest rooms are available on the first floor.
Other Floors:
· The hotel consists of three floors. Elevator is available.
· Accessible room available on the third floor that includes a king size bed, a larger bathroom with grab bars and a detachable shower head. 43.5 inch peephole height, closet bar 47.5 inches high, the bathroom entry 27 inches, room door 35 inches wide, toilet height 16 inches.
· Guest room televisions have closed captioning.
· Strobe light alarms for our fire suppression system are located in several guest rooms .
Services animals are welcome at the hotel.
Amenities:
There is a pool located at the rear of the hotel. Since our pool was built prior to 2010 and has not been updated there is not an available pool lift or a sloped entry.
