ABOUT US
The Empress Hotel (previously Motel) opened in 1961 with guests such as Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli. It also employed a young Bruce Springsteen as a busboy during the summer of ‘62. (On his singles sleeve for Hungry Heart you can see the Empress in the background.)
The hotel closed around 1988 and reopened as a strip club (like, the entire building) called Extreme Fahrenheit in 1993. Another closure and purchase by Shep Pettibone and it is now back to being a hotel.
